Ron David Butler is a photographer and filmmaker based in Toronto, Canada.
Ron is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University where he received an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies and English. He later attended Sheridan College’s Advanced Television and Film Program where he specialized in cinematography and documentary filmmaking. He completed the program having received one of the program’s top honours, the PS Production Services Kick Start Award. He later studied documentary photography and photojournalism with Magnum Photos and Spéos Photographic Institute in Paris, France.
Utilizing both film and photography in his documentary practice, Ron’s work has appeared in CBC Arts, Vice, and Eater, amongst others. Ron is also the co-founder of the production company Cûdî Giuliano Films.
